Trending Models for Academic Progression in Nursing (APIN)

As we have all come to realize, seamless academic progression is imperative for the future of associate degree (AD) nursing programs and opportunities for our graduates. Associate degree nursing programs are quality programs that provide a strong foundation for professional nursing practice. Ensuring appropriate academic progression pathways for AD nurses has become a key link for their future success.

Academic progression will assist in future faculty supply and the viability of quality and affordable healthcare in the future, in the many roles of advanced practice nurses. Many of you are involved in different models of academic progression and there is interest in learning about new models. The OADN Board of Directors believes it is vital that we place a strong emphasis on providing resources for academic progression. We will be posting information under the ACADEMIC RESOURCES tab of the website highlighting academic progression models and related topics.
