The Nursing Community Sends aLetter with Updated FY 2020 Funding Requests
On December 5, all 63 members of the Nursing Community Coalition (NCC) signed onto a letter to House and Senate appropriators reiterating our updated funding requests of at least $259.472 million, or up to $279.472 million, for existing Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development Programs, which is aligned with the House-passed Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education (LHHS-ED) appropriations bill and at least $172.417 million for the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR, National Institutes of Health) as outlined in the Senate-proposed LHHS-ED appropriations bill in Fiscal Year (FY) 2020.
President Signs FY 2020 Appropriations Bills into Law
On December 20, the Nursing Community Coalition released a statement thanking the House and Senate for passing, and the President for signing, H.R. 1865, the Further Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2020, which included increases to both Title VIII and NINR.
