Call for Student Posters: OADN 2022 Convention

July 26, 2022

Owning Your Influence

November 18 – 20, 2022

Dear Members:

The Organization for Associate Degree Nursing (OADN) invites students to submit abstracts for the OADN annual convention, with a monetary award presented to the top three submissions, sponsored by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

The convention theme this year, “Owning Your Influence,” focuses on the profound impact each nurse has on nursing innovation, leadership, professional development, health equity, quality care, advocacy, and the future nursing workforce. This extends to nursing students, as well, who are navigating dynamic practice environments to ensure that patients continue to receive high-quality, safe nursing care. Like faculty, nursing students are also leaders in their communities, and it is vitally important that they embrace this role.

Each year OADN invites students from across the nation to present their original poster abstracts at the annual OADN Convention. Poster presentations provide students with the opportunity present original research, hone their evidence-based practice competencies, and develop as public speakers.

Top consideration will be given to poster abstracts that present well-designed research or demonstration projects, particularly those that are evidence-based and include data.

Topics may include:

  • Identifying existing barriers and propose strategies to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in nursing education
  • Quality and safety interventions to improve patient outcomes
  • Fostering healthy working environments and nurse well-being
  • Identifying innovative approaches to clinical learning experiences
  • Simulation and virtual simulation
  • Discussing strategies to build inclusive learning communities
  • Developing clinical judgment
  • Transition to practice initiatives
  • Expanding access to education through creative academic progression and other strategies
  • Promoting strategies to generate and support nurse leaders, who will or are already contributing to a changing health care system regionally, nationally, and globally
  • Innovative partnerships between educational institutions, practice partners, regulators and/or other stakeholders that address workforce needs and preparedness
