Dear Members,

Over the past few years, OADN has been working collaboratively and developing important partnerships for the benefit of our members. As a national nursing organization, it is imperative that we work with other national leaders in education, practice, and industry to provide valuable resources to each of you. As a result, in the last few months OADN has formed some additional partnerships to provide more opportunities for OADN members. OADN carefully reviews our partnerships and values the expertise and knowledge they provide. It is with great pleasure that I am sharing with you some of the newest, as well as updated partnerships.

Kaplan has been a long-term partner of OADN, and I know many of you are very familiar with their many remarkable products used to enhance the educational preparation of students, as well as prepare them for the NCLEX exam. However, Kaplan is now introducing their Virtual Simulation program.

During the spring, Kaplan acquired i-Human Patients (IHP), a cloud-based teaching and learning tool focused on developing clinical reasoning skills. The initial offerings for IHP were built for physicians and nurse practitioners to practice their diagnostic skills. Kaplan is now announcing the immediate release of the first undergraduate nursing product! Students will be able to practice and improve their clinical performance before they see real clients. Faculty will get a scaffolded set of client encounters to assess students’ clinical judgment. IHP stands out for its depth of clinical interactions, ability to develop clinical judgment, objective assessment, and rich analytics to support clinical instruction. For more information,

Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) is one of our many exceptional educational partners that offers substantial benefits to our members. Some of these include a special 10% tuition discount off SNHU's on-line tuition rates and a 25% graduate discount towards MSN degrees. All the programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Additional OADN membership benefits with SNHU can be found at: https://www.snhu.edu/lp/oadn

One of our newest partners is Healthcare Learning Innovations, a division of American Sentinel University. They are transforming nursing education with a portfolio of unique, immersive, gamified simulations that accelerate learning and improve critical decision-making. The organization’s flagship virtual nursing simulation products, Sentinel City® and Sentinel Town® as well as a portfolio of virtual clinical scenarios, offer nursing students safe dynamic environments to gain practice experience and earn simulated clinical hours. All products are developed in collaboration with expert nurse educators. Some of the additional benefits are listed below but more information is provided at

www.HealthcareLearningInnovations.com

  • Free trials for virtual clinical simulations and scenarios (nurse educators)
  • Individual student access available
  • Price reductions for OADN member schools

These wonderful partners are Sapphire Sponsors at the upcoming convention and will be exhibiting. I invite you to visit them in the exhibit hall and hear about their latest products. If you are not able to be at the convention, please visit our Members Benefit page which will directly link you to each of the partners websites.

I would like to acknowledge and thank these newest sponsors for their support of OADN. The OADN Board of Directors believes these partnerships will only serve to enhance the resources for our members. In the next few weeks, you will be hearing more about new additional partners. I encourage you to review the products that can enrich the education of your students.

I am hoping to see many of you in Philadelphia which will once again be an exciting and stimulating convention.

All the best,

Donna Meyer, MSN, RN, ANEF, FAADN
