American Academy of Nursing Announces Suzanne Miyamoto as New Chief Executive Officer
October 16, 2018 – OADN congratualtes Public Director Suzanne Miyamoto, PhD, RN, FAAN on her appointment as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the American Academy of Nursing, effective December 3, 2018. In this role, Dr. Miyamoto will serve as the organizational leader, with primary management responsibility for all functions of the Academy and for enhancing the internal organization processes and infrastructure in order to position the Academy for the future. A 501(c)(3) professional organization, the Academy is comprised of more than 2,500 fellows who are nursing's most accomplished leaders in education, management, practice and research.
Miyamoto has been instrumental in helping to expand OADN's presence and influence, particularly in Washington, DC with the Nursing Community Coalition. As Chief Policy Officer for the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, Miyamoto has helped build collaborative relationships across nursing, higher education, and health care.
