Student Poster Abstract Submission Packet

CALL FOR STUDENT POSTERS – OADN CONVENTION 2021 – November 18 – 21, 2021

1st Place to receive a $3,000 award!

The Organization for Associate Degree Nursing invites students to submit abstracts for the OADN annual convention, with a monetary award presented to the top three submissions.

2020 was the Year of the Nurse – and a year that irrevocably changed both the world and the global nursing community. Our understanding of Covid-19’s impact, and the social inequities highlighted by the pandemic, continues to evolve, as too does nursing and nursing education. In that spirit, this year’s OADN convention theme is “The Power of Nursing Education to Move Beyond 2020.”

The objectives of this year’s conference are many. We’ll seek to identify existing barriers and propose strategies to promote diversity, equity and inclusion in nursing education. To foster healthy working environments and nurse well-being. To identify innovative approaches to clinical learning experiences, share technology advances and applications, discuss strategies to build inclusive learning communities, identify new methods of curriculum redesign and more.

Top consideration will be given to abstracts that present well-designed demonstration projects, particularly those that are evidence-based or include data. Abstracts that include theoretical frameworks and meta-analysis are strongly encouraged to include a robust component that demonstrates application in ADN education and/or other settings.

Specific topics suggested include, but are not limited to:

  • Fostering and demonstrating leadership in students, faculty, administrators and nurses in practice
  • Alternative and non-traditional clinical education sites
  • Innovative curricular redesign (ie. transition to online/distance, etc.)
  • Practicing in a team-based care environment
  • Changing nursing roles and practice environments
  • Using health data and technology for decision-making
  • Diversity and the workforce
  • Research and evidence-based practice
  • Expanding access to education through creative academic progression and other strategies
