Nursing Community Roundup

October 2017

Below is a summary of the Nursing Community Coalition’s (NCC) activity for the month of October.

Letter to Acting HHS Secretary Eric Hargan

On behalf of the NCC, the Steering Committee sent a letter to Acting HHS Secretary Eric Hargan to congratulate him on his new position within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and to pledge to work with him in his new role as he takes the helm of the Department.

Comments to HHS

On behalf of the NCC, the Steering Committee submitted comments to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in response to their Draft Strategic Plan for Fiscal Year 2018 to Fiscal Year 2022 that was released on September 26, 2017. The comments submitted reflected the coalition’s core principles and highlighted the need to reduce regulatory barriers. The document was compiled based on previous communications sent to HHS since January.

Meetings

The NC held their monthly meeting on October 3, 2017 and 33 NCC organizations were present for the discussion.
