Below is a summary of the Nursing Community Coalition’s (NCC) activity for the month of February.

 

Statement on the President’s Budget

The Nursing Community Coalition released a statement concerning the proposed cuts to the Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development Programs and the National Institute of Nursing Research funding in the President’s Fiscal Year 2019 Budget Proposal. In the statement, the coalition did commend the President’s commitment to combatting the opioid crisis.

Fiscal Year 2019 Title VIII Funding Request

Fifty-seven of the coalition’s members signed on to support the request level of $244 million in funding for the Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development Programs in Fiscal Year 2019.

 

Meetings

The NC held their monthly meeting on February 6, 2018 and 33 NCC organizations were present for the discussion.
