The Nursing Community Coalition sent a letter to Dr. Patricia Grady, PhD, RN, FAAN thanking her for her over 20 years of service as the Director of the National Institute of Nursing Research. Dr. Grady will be retiring at the end of the summer.
Forty-six organizations signed on to a letter sent to Representatives Paul Tonko (D-NY) and Ben Ray Luján (D-NM), the original sponsors of the Addiction Treatment Access Improvement Act, thanking them for their efforts to ensure Section 303, Allowing for More Flexibility with Respect to Medication-Assisted Treatment, was included in the final version of H.R. 6, the SUPPORT for Families and Communities Act.
The Nursing Community Coalition released a statement applauding the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s markup of H.R. 959, the Title VIII Nursing Workforce Reauthorization Act. This was a major step to move legislation that will help ensure communities have increased access to care. The Committee advanced H.R. 959 out of committee by a voice vote.

The statement thanks Representative David Joyce (R-OH), as well as original cosponsors Representatives Doris Matsui (D-CA), Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI), Rodney Davis (R-IL), Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR), and Kathy Castor (D-FL) for their unwavering commitment to the nursing profession.
