NCC Letter and Statement on Advancing the Title VIII Nursing Workforce Reauthorization Act of 2025
On July 22, the Nursing Community Coalition (NCC) issued a statement applauding the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee, for advancing the Title VIII Nursing Workforce Reauthorization Act (S.1874) manager’s amendment by voice vote as well as advancing two amendments supporting more nurse faculty and nursing workforce centers. This statement follows a letter sent to Senate HELP earlier this month. Please see below for more information. The NCC looks forward to working with our partners in Congress to advance and pass this vital Title VIII Nursing Workforce Reauthorization this year.
NCC Thanks Members of Congress for Introducing the National Nursing Workforce Center Act of 2025
On July 21, forty-two members of the NCC signed onto a letter thanking Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-DE) and Congresswoman Young Kim (R-CA-40) for introducing the National Nursing Workforce Center Act of 2025 (H.R.4407/S.1482). This bipartisan bill would support efforts to grow or establish new nursing workforce centers.
NCC Sends Comments to the Office of Management and Budget Requesting Withdrawal of Proposed Rule
On July 13, forty-six members of the NCC signed onto comments submitted to the Office of Management and Budget requesting the withdrawal of their proposed rule, Regulation for Federal Financial Assistance.
NCC Urges Senate Appropriations Committee to Support Title VIII, NINR, and Nursing as a Professional Degree in FY 2027
On July 10, sixty-two members of the NCC sent a letter to the leadership of the Senate Appropriations Committee urging support for critical investments in nursing education, workforce, and research in its Fiscal Year (FY) 2027 Labor, Health, and Human Services, and Education bill. The letter reiterates the NCC’s FY 2027 appropriations request of at least $610 million Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development Programs and $210 million for the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR), as well as support for the inclusion of bipartisan language recognizing post-baccalaureate nursing programs as professional degree programs.
