Donna Meyer is the Inaugural Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Organization for Associate Degree Nursing (OADN) and is currently the OADN Foundation President. Donna’s tenure as OADN’s inaugural CEO began in June 2015 and continued until her retirement on December 31, 2022. During her tenure, the organization became a pillar in the nursing community and the strongest voice for associate degree nursing and ADN educators in the country. Through her innovative leadership, Donna developed numerous programs to elevate the collective voice and impact of community college nursing education. Some of the highlights include the development of the OADN Leadership Institute, the Alpha Delta Nu Honor Society, the Academy for Associate Degree Nursing, the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, the COVID Task Force and numerous other programs. Through her collaborative spirit, Donna formed numerous partnerships to guide OADN to its national presence.

Prior to beginning her tenure as OADN’s CEO she was the Dean of Health Sciences at Lewis and Clark Community College and the Director of the Lewis and Clark Family Health Clinic, the only nurse-managed center operated by a community college. Donna spent thirty-two years in community college nursing education in both faculty and administrative roles.

She is very engaged in numerous national organizations. Her current professional nursing activities include the American Red Cross National Nursing Committee, the International Society of Professional Identity in Nursing, the National Collaborative for Transition to Practice, Community College Baccalaureate Association Board of Directors, ATI Advisory Board, Western Governors University Nursing Advisory Council, the University of Phoenix Nursing Advisory Council, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society. She has received various awards for her work. In 2015, she was bestowed the Professor Emeritus designation from Lewis and Clark Community College. She has published in numerous journals on various nursing topics and presented at both national and international conferences on nursing leadership, innovative clinical practice, and education. She is a fellow in the American Academy of Nursing, National League of Nursing’s Academy of Nursing Education, and an honorary fellow in the Academy of Associate Degree Nursing.
