Dr. Marianne Murray is a prominent nursing leader and advocate dedicated to advancing healthcare education and workforce development in Alaska. Currently serving as Professor and Director of Nursing ProgramsĀ at Alaska Pacific University, she oversees the administration and accreditation of multiple nursing tracks designed to meet the state’s critical healthcare needs. Her leadership is defined by a commitment to expanding access for rural and Alaska Native students.

As the Primary Investigator for a $2.9 million Department of Labor grant, Dr. Murray leads the Alaska Nursing Expansion Initiative, focusing on sustainable academic-practice partnerships. Her previous role as Executive Administrator for the Alaska Board of Nursing further highlights her influence in statewide policy, legislative relations, and professional regulation.

A recognized expert in healthcare simulation, Dr. Murray is a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) who has pioneered interprofessional training models to improve clinical readiness. Her professional contributions extend to the national level as a Peer Evaluator for the ACEN and a member of the Editorial Board for Teaching and Learning in Nursing.
