Heather King, RN, DNP, MSN/Ed., CNE
Candidate for Midwest Region Representative

I am writing to express my desire to serve as director of the mid-west region for the OADN. As the faculty advisor for the OADN chapter at Kirtland Community College for the past several years, I have seen the benefits and significant contributions the OADN makes to new nurses as well as the profession as a whole. I believe my tenure as a professor of nursing of 6 years will be of benefit to the OADN. I hope to use my experience both as a former ADN graduate and now nursing professor to further the mission of the OADN and uphold the importance of the ADN, the pathway to practice. I will bring 15 years of nursing experience with me- which will be beneficial for the various important work the OADN does such as supporting communities, developing leaders among faculty and students and supporting nurse educators. From this position- I hope to gain valuable experience networking and connecting with others that work in associate degree nursing education as well as impart my experience and support for the ADN degree track.
