Candidate Statement

I am honored to be considered for the position of Director, Northeastern Region, on the OADN Board of Directors. My connection to the northeast region began growing up in New York, continued through earning my BSN at the University of Rhode Island, and grew through my first RN role in Connecticut before moving to Delaware. These experiences have given me an appreciation for the communities and nursing education pathways that define the Northeast.

I have been a nurse for 29 years, beginning in critical care and later transitioning into nursing education. My doctoral work focused on RN-to-BSN program development within a community college setting. Today, as Collegewide Nursing Instructional Director at Delaware Technical Community College, I oversee practical nursing and associate degree prelicensure, and RN to BSN programs across the state.

I am actively engaged in the profession through membership and leadership activities with OADN, the Delaware and American Nurses Association, Sigma, Delaware Organization of Nurse Leaders, and have served as an ACEN Peer Evaluator since 2018. These experiences have provided opportunities to collaborate with nursing leaders nationwide and gain valuable perspectives on the opportunities and challenges facing nursing education.

OADN's mission aligns closely with my commitment to access, opportunity, workforce development, and community impact. One of the most meaningful moments of 2026 was celebrating my daughter's ADN pinning and cheering as she forged her own path into nursing. If elected, I would be honored to advocate for ADN education and represent the perspectives of nursing programs throughout the Northeastern Region.
