NCC Statement on the Senate FY 2026 LHHS-ED Appropriations Bill
On August 5, the Nursing Community Coalition issued a statement commending the Senate Appropriations Committee for retaining and providing funding for the Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development Programs and the National Institute of Nursing Research in its FY 2026 Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education bill, as well as expressing a commitment to working with both the House and Senate to ensure that this remains the case in any final FY 2026 appropriations legislation.
NCC Sends Letter to Congress Outlining Top Appropriations and Legislative Priorities
On August 19, sixty-two members of the Nursing Community Coalition signed onto a letter to all members of Congress, urging them to take action of top appropriations and legislative priorities that impact nursing education, workforce, and research.
NCC Submits Written Comments to Department of Education on Implementation of the One Big Beautiful Bill
On August 25, fifty-six members of the Nursing Community Coalition (NCC) signed onto written comments submitted to the U.S. Department of Education urging them to consider the needs of our current and future nurses when implementing H.R.1, the One Big Beautiful Bill. In particular, the NCC requests that the Department classify post-baccalaureate nursing programs under “professional” degree programs.
