NCC Statement on the President’s FY 2026 Budget
On May 5, the Nursing Community Coalition (NCC) issued a statement expressing concerns with the Administration’s FY 2026 skinny budget, which proposes the elimination of the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR) and cuts to education, training, maternal and child health, and other health workforce programs within the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).

NCC Sends Letter to Congress Outlining Top Legislative Priorities During National Nurses Week
On May 6, all sixty-four members of the Nursing Community Coalition (NCC) signed onto a letter urging Congress to take action on top appropriations and legislative priorities that impact nursing education, workforce, and research. This letter comes as we celebrate National Nurses Week 2025.

NCC Urges Support for Funding Nursing Workforce and Research as the President Honors National Nurses Day
On May 12, the Nursing Community Coalition (NCC) released a statement reiterating its support of funding for the Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development Programs, as well as for retaining and funding the National Institute of Nursing Research, following the Administration’s statement honoring National Nurses Day.

38 Senators Support FY 2026 Funding for Title VIII in Senate Dear Colleague Letter 
On May 23, thirty-eight Senators signed onto a Senate Dear Colleague Letter requesting $530 million for Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development Programs in FY 2026.

94 Representatives Support FY 2025 Funding for Title VIII in House Dear Colleague Letter
Ninety-four Representatives signed onto the bipartisan House of Representatives Dear Colleague Letter, requesting $530 million for Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development Programs in FY 2026.

NCC Thanks Congress for Introducing a Resolution Honoring and Recognizing National Nurses Week 2025
On May 28, all sixty-four members of the Nursing Community Coalition (NCC) signed onto a letter thanking the leadership of the House and Senate Nursing Caucuses, along with 16 bipartisan members in the House and Senate, for introducing S.Res.206 and H.Res.389 – a resolution supporting the goals and ideals of National Nurses Week, to be observed from May 6 through May 12, 2025.
