Fellowship Objectives
The Fellowship aims to:
- Improve student success and NCLEX-RN readiness
- Support evidence-based innovation in ADN education
- Advance faculty fellowship and professional development
- Generate rigorous evidence or educational outcomes
- Promote dissemination of best practices across the ADN community
Fellowship Cohort
Up to three ADN programs are selected annually through a competitive application process. Applications are reviewed by a panel of nursing and health professions education experts, who will select up to three fellowship recipients annually.
Each participating institution will identify a faculty lead who will serve as the Fellowship Champion and primary project contact.
Please note: Only OADN members who are not currently Lecturio clients may apply.
Fellowship Component
1. Innovation Implementation
Participating programs receive:
- Up to $2,500 to support conference registration and travel expense reimbursement for presenting project outcomes to each selected Fellowship Champion. The target conference is the OADN Convention and is subject to OADN’s established abstract review and program-selection process.
- Complimentary access to Lecturio Nursing resources for a pilot implementation that lasts for 1 academic year.
- Implementation planning and onboarding support
- Guidance on curriculum integration
- Student adoption and engagement recommendations
- Ongoing check-ins throughout the Fellowship period
2. Research & Outcomes Support
Fellowship recipients receive support in:
- Study design
- Outcomes measurement
- Data collection planning
- IRB preparation and guidance
- Evaluation of student performance and NCLEX-RN readiness metrics
- Student success and progression analysis
The goal is to help faculty move beyond anecdotal outcomes and develop meaningful evidence that can inform future educational decisions.
3. Faculty Development & Mentorship
Fellowship recipients will receive mentorship from experienced nursing education leaders and gain practical experience in:
- Educational innovation
- Outcomes evaluation
- Evidence-based teaching practices
- Academic leadership
4. Fellowship & Dissemination
To help faculty share their work and advance their careers, the Fellowship includes:
- Abstract development coaching
- Conference presentation guidance
- Manuscript development coaching
- Dissemination planning
Fellowship recipients will be encouraged to present and disseminate their findings within the broader nursing education community at the OADN conference.

- Supporting at-risk students
- Faculty workload reduction
- Innovative teaching and learning approaches
- Student engagement and academic success
Participation Expectations
Selected fellows will participate in a supported implementation and outcomes evaluation process designed to help faculty transform educational innovation into measurable outcomes and scholarly dissemination.
Participation may include implementation planning, onboarding, student and faculty engagement support, outcomes measurement, de-identified data sharing, dissemination planning, and development of a conference-ready presentation or other scholarly output.
Each participating institution is responsible for determining and securing any required institutional approvals, including IRB review, quality improvement determination, data-use approval, privacy review, security review, or other internal approvals required for participation.
Fellows will be expected to share only de-identified, cohort-level data for outcomes evaluation, in accordance with institutional policies and applicable privacy and security requirements.
Before any public dissemination, OADN, Lecturio, and the participating fellow will align on expectations related to project materials, data use, authorship, publication, presentations, conference submissions, and other dissemination activities.
OADN and Lecturio have permission to use Fellow names, institutional affiliations, project descriptions, approved results, and testimonials in program communications.
Fellowship Deliverables
Each Fellowship project will produce:
- An implementation summary
- Outcomes evaluation and summary
- A conference-ready presentation
- A dissemination plan for sharing findings
Required Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
1. Program Type
Applicants must represent a U.S.-based Associate Degree Nursing program preparing students for RN licensure and the NCLEX-RN.
2. Institutional Support
Applicants must have support from a Dean, Director, Program Chair, or equivalent academic leader who can approve participation, support implementation, and facilitate access to required data.
3. Faculty Lead
Applicants must identify a Faculty Lead who will serve as the primary project contact and participate in onboarding, implementation, check-ins, data review, and dissemination activities.
4. Target Student Cohort
Applicants must have an identified student cohort preparing for NCLEX-RN before the end of the academic year in 2027. Preference will be given to programs with approximately 100 or more NCLEX-RN eligible students annually, or a sufficiently large target cohort to support meaningful outcomes evaluation.
5. Implementation Readiness
Applicants must be willing and able to integrate Lecturio Nursing resources into a defined course, remediation process, NCLEX-RN preparation strategy, or student success initiative during the Fellowship period.
6. Data Sharing Commitment
Applicants must be willing to share de-identified student performance and outcomes data with Lecturio for the purpose of evaluating the project. Relevant data may include predictor exam results, course performance, student engagement, remediation outcomes, NCLEX-RN readiness indicators, and, where available, NCLEX-RN pass outcomes.
7. Research and Dissemination Commitment
Applicants must be willing to participate in project evaluation and work toward a conference-ready presentation, poster, manuscript, or other dissemination output.
Preferred Candidate Profile
Priority will be given to applicants who demonstrate:
- A clear student success or NCLEX-RN readiness challenge
- A defined implementation opportunity where Lecturio resources could support measurable improvement
- Sufficient student volume to generate rigorous evidence or educational outcomes
- Access to baseline and follow-up student performance data
- Use of an existing predictor or readiness assessment, such as ATI, HESI, Kaplan, or another institutional benchmark
- Strong support from program leadership
- A motivated faculty lead interested in research, publication, or professional advancement
- A realistic implementation timeline
- Willingness to collaborate with Lecturio mentors and nursing education experts
- Potential to generate findings that could be shared with the broader ADN community
Exclusion Criteria
The Fellowship is not intended for:
- Practical Nursing or PN-only programs
- Institutions outside the United States
- Current Lecturio Nursing clients
- Institutions that are not current OADN institutional members
- Programs without a defined NCLEX-RN eligible student cohort
- Programs unable or unwilling to share de-identified outcomes data
- Programs without leadership support for implementation
- Applicants seeking general funding without a defined student success, NCLEX-RN readiness, or educational innovation project
