Candidate for OADN Nominating Committee

Patricia Bush

In my 25-year career as a nurse I have had a variety of experiences including working in home health, medical-surgical bedside nursing, but for the past 9 years, being a nurse educator has been my most exciting experience. Within these roles I gained significant experience and knowledge to tap into leadership, which has played a huge part in me becoming a nursing educator. I hold a strong commitment and love to serve within the nursing profession, and I believe that this pathway offers a unique opportunity for students to develop the skills, knowledge, and critical thinking abilities necessary to succeed in the nursing profession

Throughout my career, I have been driven by a deep understanding of the critical importance of nursing education in preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals. As a seasoned educator, I have had the privilege of teaching and mentoring students in an associate degree program, guiding them to become competent, compassionate, and culturally sensitive nurses. My experience has taught me that quality nursing education is essential to ensuring excellence in patient care, improving healthcare outcomes, and advancing the nursing profession.

As a committee member, I would bring a collaborative approach to identifying and selecting leaders who are passionate about promoting college nursing education and creating opportunities for associate degree graduates. I would work closely with the committee to develop and implement effective strategies for identifying, recruiting, and selecting exceptional leaders who share the organization’s vision.

I am honored to apply for a position on the nomination committee of this esteemed organization. I am confident that my experience, expertise, and leadership skills will make me an ideal fit for this role. I look forward to the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of associate degree nurses and working with fellow committee members to promote excellence in nursing education.
