Candidate Statement
I am excited to express my interest in serving on the OADN Nominations Committee. OADN's mission to promote excellence in associate degree nursing education through advocacy, leadership, and professional development closely aligns with my own commitment to advancing nursing education and supporting the success of both students and faculty.
For more than ten years, I have served as an RN and VN Program Director, in addition to my role as Director of Health Sciences. These leadership positions have provided me with extensive experience in program administration, faculty development, accreditation, strategic planning, and collaborative decision-making. They have also given me the opportunity to mentor emerging nurse educators, recruit and support talented faculty, and build partnerships that strengthen educational programs. Through these experiences, I have developed the ability to recognize effective leaders, appreciate diverse perspectives, and make thoughtful, objective decisions that serve the best interests of an organization.
I believe that these experiences would enable me to make meaningful contributions as a member of the OADN Nominations Committee. I understand the importance of identifying individuals who not only possess strong leadership skills but who are also committed to advancing the mission and values of OADN. I value transparency, collaboration, and inclusivity, and I believe these qualities are essential in cultivating a strong and representative leadership team. Serving on the Nominations Committee would provide me with the opportunity to give back to an organization that plays such a vital role in advancing associate degree nursing education while helping shape its future leadership.
It would be an honor to serve OADN in this capacity. I am committed to contributing my leadership experience, organizational skills, and dedication to nursing education to help ensure that OADN continues to thrive and fulfill its mission for years to come.
